entia non sunt multiplicanda praeter necessitatem

Or in other words

entities must not be multiplied beyond necessity

This is also known as Ockham’s razor. The computer scientist mostly refers to the somehow similar KISS principle

keep it simple [and | ,] stupid

Even Einstein said something in that direction:

everything should be made as simple as possible, but no simpler

I just read source-code that reminded me to adhere to the common deeper meaning of  all of these “sayings” to never produce code like the one I was looking at 😉

25th of may 1919 was a relatively interesting day

Turning back the wheel of time exactly 90 years one could witness a total eclipse of the sun. This is relatively uninteresting as such an event occurs a couple of times in a humans lifespan. What makes it absolutely interesting is that this solar eclipse was used by Eddington to prove Einsteins general theory of relativity. As I have only rudimentary knowledge of the subject and am more fan of the superstar that was born at this eclipse I refer you to a blogpost of a man who really knows the subject:

The article is relatively 😉 long but features some interesting insight into the historical events that took place 90 years back as well as the impacts of this theroy on our world today – happy reading.
