Microsoft Server 2008 R2 and the Nehalem
It’s funny that I was pointed to an german article from Andreas Stiller (whom I met recently at Seattle Airport on the way to SC09) at the slashdot website:

The essence is – Microsoft is using the APIC-timer which causes some hangups as this timer causes to much interrupts for the hypervisor.
